Dental and gum examinations

We begin by listening to your concerns and examining your teeth and gums. If an X-ray or another test is needed, we explain why. Then we discuss your treatment options.

Your care, step by step

What treatment involves

Talking through your concerns

We discuss the reason for your visit, symptoms, expectations and relevant medical history.

Examination

Your dentist examines your mouth and recommends only the diagnostic tests needed.

Findings and recommendations

We show you what we have found and explain what needs treatment and what can be monitored.

Follow-up care

What you will learn at your check-up

We explain which teeth need treatment and which can be monitored at future check-ups. Where there is more than one option, we compare the procedures and costs.

Frequently asked questions

Before your visit

Do I need an X-ray at every check-up?

No. Your dentist recommends one when a visual examination alone cannot provide the information needed. The type of X-ray depends on the findings.

Can I come for a second opinion?

Yes. When booking, mention that you would like advice on a proposed treatment. If you have reports or X-rays, ask reception how to share them with the dentist.
